By creating an account or contributing to TheGodex, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What TheGodex Is
TheGodex is a volunteer-driven scientific screening network. Your device may process publicly available astronomical imagery, and you may review or verify machine-flagged findings. Participation is voluntary and free.
The service does not guarantee that any contribution results in a discovery, publication, or attribution.
2. Your Participation
- You may start or stop background analysis at any time.
- You agree not to falsify data, manipulate results, automate abuse, or create multiple accounts to inflate contributions.
- You understand that all findings are provisional until verified through defined review and validation processes.
3. Scientific Integrity
All machine detections and human reviews are subject to validation, cross-checking, and independent verification. TheGodex may reject, retract, or reclassify findings if later evidence contradicts earlier results.
No detection is considered a confirmed discovery unless it meets published verification criteria.
4. Attribution & Credit
Verified discoveries may be credited to contributors according to the platform’s attribution policy. Credit is contingent upon verification and may require independent validation.
The underlying astronomical data remains the property of its originating institutions and survey providers.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- Attempt to disrupt or overload the service.
- Circumvent security, authentication, or verification mechanisms.
- Scrape, replicate, or misuse contributor or discovery data.
- Use automated tools to manipulate contribution metrics.
6. Data & Privacy
Contributions and activity may be stored to maintain scientific records, integrity, and attribution. See our Privacy and Cookie Policies for details.
7. No Warranty
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, data availability, scientific outcomes, or recognition of contributions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheGodex and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from use of the service.
9. Modifications
We may modify or discontinue features of the service at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
