This policy explains what TheGodex collects and why. We are built around a simple principle: we move coordinates and results, not raw imagery or personal data. Scientific survey images are downloaded directly by your browser from public archives and are not stored on our servers.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data — your email address and authentication credentials. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text.
• Contribution data — records of tasks your device processes, motion measurements, and any reviews you submit. This is required for attribution, scientific validation, and reputation tracking.
• Technical data — basic information such as IP address, request timestamps, and error logs used for security, fraud prevention, and system stability.

2. Background Analysis Data

When you enable background analysis:

• Public astronomical images are fetched directly from their originating survey archives (e.g., Pan-STARRS).
• Only derived measurements (coordinates, motion vectors, statistical metrics) are transmitted to our servers.
• Raw survey imagery is not stored, proxied, or redistributed by us.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate your account.
• To record and credit your scientific contributions.
• To validate, cluster, and verify detections.
• To maintain system security and prevent abuse.

4. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• We do not profile users for marketing purposes.
• We do not send your personal data to paid AI services.

5. Data Retention

Account and contribution data are retained for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to maintain scientific records. You may request deletion of your account, subject to retention of anonymized contribution records for research integrity.

6. Third-Party Infrastructure

We use third-party service providers for authentication and database hosting (e.g., Supabase). These providers process data solely to operate the service.

7. Scientific Records

Contribution data may form part of a permanent scientific record. Verified findings and contributor attribution may be preserved even if an account is later deleted.

8. Your Rights
